COMPANY SUMMARY:

We are offering an opportunity to participate in the fast-growing cider industry with a startup company that is well positioned to manufacture quality cider and distribute into an as-yet under-served region. We are located in NW Montana right between Flathead Lake, the largest lake west of the Mississippi, and the beautiful mountain ranges of Glacier National Park. We aspire to manufacture great craft ciders and distribute it to fellow Montanans and our neighbors. We are looking for the right person to learn and implement our cider making process. 

We are currently looking for a Production Team Member at our cidery in Kalispell, MT. Production Team Members will be expected to be able to move fluidly among a variety of job duties within the cidery such as tracking inventory, and packaging our cider. This is an especially intense manual labor job involving repetitively moving (sometimes heavy) stuff.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Capable of fulfilling all positions on the packaging line (filling, pasteurizing, labeling, kegging, keg cleaning, etc.)
Operating an automated canning line
Labeling of finished product
General facility/equipment upkeep and maintenance
Maintain a clean and organized work area and warehouse space
Special project work as assigned
Assist in all aspects of cider production as required
Responsible for all pertinent record keeping associated with the day’s tasks
Ensure garbage and recycling are set out at appropriate times
Assist in all aspects of shipping and receiving as assigned
Assist in all areas of inventory management and tracking as assigned

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with Wild Goose canning machine strongly desired
Strong background in cleaning/sanitation
Strong communication skills
Mechanical ability
Forklift experience
Willingness to work at a fast pace, yet be precise in daily tasks
Flexibility; shifts may include weekends, nights, overnights and are subject to change on short notice

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 140 pounds
Ability to be frequently exposed to wet conditions and work in extreme cold
Frequently exposed to strong and sometimes disagreeable odors
Occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals
Ability to work near moving mechanical parts safely
Ability to work in a moderately noisy environment

A desire to learn and progress
General knowledge of science stuff like fluid dynamics and gas partial pressures

PREREQUISITES

Minimum of one year of fermented beverage production in a mid to high volume facility. Beer/cider/wine all okay
High School diploma including computer competency
The ability to communicate effectively.
Clean and valid driver’s license
Ability to work rotating shifts and adjust schedule to meet production demands
Ability to work both independently and with a team
Mechanical aptitude and creativity
A desire to learn
The desire to be diligent and circumspect in duties
